During the opening ceremony of Universiade 2011, about 500 families lives near the stadium are forced to leave their home by the authority because of the concern of security. Those who refuse to obey the regulation will have to accept policemen stay in their home.

Juvenile delinquency is a worldwide issue which disturbing many societies. In terms of China, it mainly presented as gang fight, steal, extortion and sexual abuse. Extremely severe events occurred many times over a year.


Some causes which lead to these phenomena are well known. Most opinions are criticizing that violent movies and video games should be responsible for these. An unrealistic world is shown in the face of children. Breaking rules, seeking stimulation, rewarding violence, children who addicted will be developed a sense of anti-social and willing to deal with realistic problems by using violence. Meanwhile, most Chinese parents do not know how to associate with their kids except to require them concentrate on learning, and to satisfy their demands as far as possible. Lack of care and communication with family makes children's unhealthy thoughts and character could not be corrected in time.


Preventing children to access to the violent scenes in movies and video games is impracticable in information ages. However, participating in social activities, such as community volunteers, family parties and various camps, will help children to understand well that what the real world is, how to associate with others and how to solve a problem without using violent. In the progress of communicating with other people, children will find the meaning and value from their behavior. 

Talk About Happiness

Happiness is the most essential component of life. To some extent, the pursuit of happiness is the most important motivation of all human activities. Although people have talked about happiness since time immemorial, it seems that there is no a clear and universally recognized definition of what exactly is happiness.

A possible cause of the puzzle for describing happiness is relativity. White collars in China might feel happy if they are on overtime for numbers jobs because of the shown importance and abilities of them, while French people are fighting for their off-hours. Some people might fell happy if they can combine the job and personal interest, yet others may argue that it is completely unacceptable because of the loss of simple pleasure. Young people might regard venture as happiness, but he will prefer more peaceful live after he has aged. Obviously, to different individuals and different situations, the meaning of happiness always is different.

As for me, the vital elements of the pursuit of happiness are independence and flexibility.

The cause and some solutions of environment

As the most powerful creature, human has strong effect on other species on the planet. From ancient times, along with the advancement of human society, significant changings happened all around the world, some species were extinct rapidly, and some adapted to the changing successfully and became thriving. 


However, modern industrial-commercial society which has established by the Industrial Revolution not only affects all kinds of plants and animals, but threatens the whole ecosystem.


Mass production and consumption, the basic feature of the developing mode of industrial-commercial society, is the major cause to lead to serious environmental problems. It damages the natural environment in two aspects, over-exploitation and pollution.

Try our best to avoid lying.

Cheating is the nature of all high-level organisms include human. No one can resist the nature to tell the truth in his/her lifetime. Although most societies regard cheating as immoral, some kinds of lies are widely accepted, in some situations, the lies even considered better than the truth. I would not like to be opposite to this view, yet I think that people should try their best to deliver the truth all the time.

The major consideration of telling lies is that others cannot handle the truth well. Although lying may cover the truth temporarily, it cannot change anything psychically. In fact, lying often cause more problems. As an example, parents always request their children to keep honest, even though they lie to them sometimes. Along with growing up, kids will discover the truth eventually, yet they may be confused that whether honesty is a fundamental character. This kind of perplexity sometimes leads to serious psychological and sociable barriers among teenagers. Therefore, it is better to help children to deal with those difficult issues than to leave them with ignorance or weakness. Each time that parents lie to their kids is a regretful loss of opportunity for helping them to develop.

Is it practical for richer governments to take the responsibility of international aid?

I believe that developed countries should make more efforts to help developing countries to struggle against poverty and backwardness. This is not only a humanitarian problem, but also a process of civilization of all mankind, and every single person will get benefits from it, no matter where he/she is.

However, due to political characteristic, the governments of richer nations could only play a limited role in international aid.

A major limiting factor is domestic politics. Governments must be responsible for the benefits of its own citizens. Diverse individuals, groups, organizations and corporations always have various demands. Meeting and balancing all kinds of demands will not only restrict the government's choice of allocation of budget and resources for helping other countries, but also make it difficult to them to ensure the continuity of policies in such issues, especially in the field of trade.

Can popular global sporting occasions ease tensions?

There is a point of view that well-liked international sports meetings can play an important role in politics, because international disputes and patriotic or nationalism mood could be eased peacefully in this way. This view seems overly optimistic.

First, the effect is not so obvious. In theory, sporting occasions can deepen understanding among people from different parts of the world and help eliminate prejudice and discrimination, but there is no clear evidence to prove that the effect is extensive and universal, or the consequence is direct and significant. For instance, the conflict between Israel and Palestine is always a hot point in spite of the fact that they have attended international sports games together for many times. Similar situation also presents with India and Pakistan.

Secondly, some facts show that hostile thoughts and irrational feelings could be brought into sports meetings. In 1936, the Olympic Games were used as a tool to strengthen patriotism and racism by Hitler. In 1972 Munich Olympics, 11 Israeli athletes were murdered by terrorists. At the present time, some governments use international sporting events to stage their achievements instead of developing friend relationships with other countries. Obviously, all of these would not help to ease patriotic emotions.

The pursuit of peace and intellect is a long and complicated progress. I believe the international sports meetings will contribute to the aid gradually. Meanwhile, it’s not a realistic expectation that remarkable changes could be generated directly and significantly in this way.
